4-H After school programs provide opportunitieis for youth to turn ideas into action. Through the work of caring mentors, 4-H - a positive youth development organization - is cultivating a growing number of America's youth to lead us in a Revolution of Responsibility. Their commitment challenges us all to join the movement toward meaningful change through the projects they complete.
There are many interesting projects to do as part of 4-H after school programs. It is amazing what youth can learn by completing a 4-H project. Youth not only have fun learning about a topic but also gain life-skills like responsibility, record keeping, and working with others.
Project work not only increases a 4-H'ers knowledge of a particular subject of interest to them, but project work can also prepare them for a career in that field, such as veterinary science. Scholarships, prizes, awards, and special recognition are also the rewards for project work.
