The Extension Forestry Program in Baker County provides objective, research-based publications, classes, workshops field tours, home visits and websites that address current issues in forestry and natural resource management. My programs are designed for today's timberland owners, natural resource professionals, loggers, educators and youth.
These programs provide information on a wide variety of topics including forest regeneration, vegetation management, silvicultural systems, forest insects and diseases, harvesting, marketing forest products and managing wildlife habitat.
This web site is designed to be an additional resource that will complement and enhance my forestry programs. In fact, my objective is to make it as useful as any reference you might have on your bookshelf. It will contain downloadable Extension publications, newsletters, a calendar of forestry related events, and links to other useful web sites. This is a brand-new tool and there is much to learn about how to make it as valuable and useful as I think it can be.
The “How to Manage Your Forest” online Extension program is designed to introduce you to a broad range of fundamental forest management topics that will help you achieve your unique forestland goals and objectives. Through this program, you can now learn these practical, research-based skills and techniques on your own time and at your own schedule.
