Junior Leaders are 7th-12th
grade 4-H members, who have usually been in a 4-H club
for a year or two as junior members. These youth go
through required Junior Leader training their first
year in this role (usually held in January or early
February), along with at least one adult leader from
their 4-H club. They learn basic responsibilities, how
to work with adult leaders, and start a plan for their
leadership projects for the year. Experienced Junior
Leaders must attend Junior Leader training every 3 years.
For 2005-06, ALL youth in 7th-12th grades planning
on being Jr. Leaders must attend the training!
Teen Leaders are 10th-12th
grade 4-H members, who have usually been Junior Leaders
and now want to take on equal leadership in their 4-H
clubs with their adult leaders. They also can lead their
own 4-H club, with an adult advisor. Teen Leaders must
attend New Leader Training, along with adult 4-H leaders.
