Mentored Management Planning For Forest Landowners

Oregon State University is bringing a Mentored Management class to Albany this October. The workshop will consist of three evening sessions. The initial session will be held Tuesday October 6th from 5:30-8:30pm in the Evelyn Downing Room at the Linn County Extension Office, corner of 4th and Lyons, in Albany. Follow up sessions are planned for Tuesday, October 27th, 6:00-8:30pm, and Tuesday, November 17th, 5:30-8:30 pm.

Written management plans are quickly becoming a standard requirement for forest landowners. If you want a written forest management plan, or would like to update your existing plans then sign up for this workshop.

Landowners will be lined with a professional forester, other resource professional or Master Woodland Manager who will visit their property and then serve as a mentor to guide them as they complete their management plan.

Participants will be provided with maps, aerial photos and other planning aids for developing or updating their forest management plan. There will be two follow-up sessions to review progress.

Registration is required before September 25th to enable assembly of maps, aerial photos and other resource information particular to your property. Cost for the training is $50.00 per participating landowner and multiple family owners for the same property are encouraged to attend.
