6th Annual
KIDS DAY FOR CONSERVATION
Small Footprint-Big Impact

Kids Day for Conservation is coming to Corvallis and the Benton County Fairgrounds on Saturday, September 20 from 10 am until 4 pm and your family is invited!

This sixth annual event will be free, fun, and focused on hands-on natural resource education. The theme this year is “Small Footprint - Big Impact”, to help kids learn how they can make a big difference for conservation in their community. Over 40 local and state-wide natural resource organizations and businesses will be on hand to present a wide variety of activities suitable for children of all ages.

There will be do-it-yourself nature art projects. You will discover amphibians, birds, fish and other critters that live in our farms, forests and urban areas. You can build a bird house to take home, climb a “bouldering wall”, and shoot a bow and arrow. Explore a “soil tunnel” to see what goes on underground. Learn how to conserve energy. See how wildfire spreads and how to protect your family from it. Participate in the Great Western Oregon Forest Scavenger Hunt and learn about farm and forest products that are produced locally. Come and throw an atlatl and discover the magic of wood! This is only a sample of all that you can see and do at Kids Day!

There will truly be something for everyone at Kids Day for Conservation. The event will be held under cover, rain or shine. Come spend an hour or half the day with us. Food and drink will be available for purchase. Free transportation will be provided by the Corvallis Transit buses. For more information, call 541-929-2477.
