Forests and the natural resources associated with them are an important part the landscape, heritage and lifestyle of Benton, Linn and Polk Counties. We help woodland owners and managers take care of their property by providing objective, research-based information and resources they need to make well-informed decisions about how to care for their property. We do this through classes, tours, newsletters, Extension Publications, and online resources on many aspects of woodland natural resource management relevant to the mid-Willamette Valley, the adjacent foothills and mountains.
We bring extensive state and national expertise to the local community through our affiliation with the OSU Forestry and Natural Resources Extension Program and the OSU College of Forestry. We also collaborate with many groups that have a shared interest in our region’s forests, including state and Federal agencies, conservation districts, land trusts and watershed councils to provide a wide array of programs for teachers and youth, farmers, Christmas tree growers and many others to meet the communities’ broader interests.
