OSU Extension Service Oregon Season Trackers is a citizen science project engaging volunteers in monitoring seasonal patterns of precipitation and plant phenology.

Everyone is welcome to join the Energize Corvallis program Communities Take Charge at any time throughout the year. This neighborhood-based program invites people to take charge by pledging to try three energy-saving actions for a month.

OSU Extension’s Neighborhood Sustainability Stewards volunteer program engages the local community in climate change actions on a household level. The goals are to engage the general public in a climate change conversation, to give the public tools to lower CO2 emissions on a household level, and to give them skills to live sustainably in a changing world.

Volunteer Opportunities: Oregon State University Extension Service - Master level volunteers are trained by university experts and in turn dedicate their time to teaching and enriching their communities. Master-level volunteer opportunities include: Master Gardeners, 4-H Youth Development, Master Woodland Managers, Master Food Preservers, Master Recyclers, Master Watershed Steward, 4-H Wildlife Stewards, and Family and Community Health.

Corvallis Sustainability Coalition is a network of organizations and individual volunteers in Corvallis, Oregon, who are working together to create a sustainable community. CSC has action teams who are groups of volunteers working together to implement the Community Sustainability Action Plan.

Corvallis Environmental Center works to educate, engage, and inspire people to get involved in creating a healthy, sustainable community

Benton Soil & Water Conservation District provides residents education for conservation and responsible use and management of soil, water and related resources.

Benton County Parks & Natural Area provides access to natural, historic, and recreational areas and conserving, restoring and developing parkland investments.

Corvallis City Parks & Recreation offers programs, classes, and sports leagues for youth and adults in the community. Parks & Rec encourages healthy, sustainable choices by offering a variety of recreational and wellness activities, facilities, volunteer opportunities, and educational programs.

Volunteer Opportunities

Chintimini Wildlife Center - Every week, nearly 100 volunteers come to the center to care for the wildlife patients that grace our doorstep. These volunteers care for these animals by feeding them, cleaning their enclosures, administering necessary medications, and carrying out other rehabilitation activities.

Center Against Rape & Domestic Violence - CARDV volunteers provide the much needed support to keep the services free and confidential. The most common opportunities include advocacy, event volunteering, administrative, board membership, internship, and wish list drives.

Greenbelt Land Trust - Greenbelt Land Trust is committed to protecting and preserving the Willamette Valley. Working alongside landowners in Benton, Linn, Marion, and Polk counties, Greenbelt Land Trust is working to create innovative conservation options to protect wildlife habitat, water quality, and recreational resources.
