Most 4-H Project Records are available online here. This website has heavy traffic in the fall and may be unavailable at times. Please be patient and keep trying.

About 4-H Record Book Awards4-H Record Book Awards are based on the past year's 4-H project work (2006-2007 4-H year), permanent record, and other criteria established by the Awards & Recognition Committees. You will want to get a copy of the 2007 Metro Awards and Recogntion Brochure. It has everything you and your members need to know about awards and recognition available through records, as well as how to assemble and submit records for evaluation. You will also need the 2007 Awards & Recognition Application Form. If you wish to apply for college scholarships, you'll need to fill out the Application page and the Questionnaire page. Otherwise, you only need to fill out the Application page. Record Book Workshops An opportunity for 4-H youth, leaders, and parents to learn more about record books.
Volunteer to Evaluate Record Books - Read more about it in our flier! 4-H leaders, parents, and older youth are needed to help judge record books. Training is required if you have not done this before. Please come to one of these training sessions:
RSVP to your county Extension office is required before attending workshops and trainings. If no one RSVPs, clinics will be cancelled. Other times are available by appointment. Judging will take place for Metro Awards on Saturday, October 6 and for County Awards on Monday, October 8. Your help on one or both of these dates would be greatly appreciated.
Note: Grade as of October 1, 2007: 5th - 12th grades and graduating seniors ONLY. Adventure members are not eligible for awards. Record Books Due: Record Books are DUE to the Extension office by 4:30 p.m. on October 1. Recognition program: November 17, 2007, Fairgrounds, Canby. All 4-H Youth who turn in 4-H record books will be recognized at this program. Everyone is invited to attend.
How to Apply For AwardsUse the 2007 Application to indicate the awards for which you want to be considered. List County Awards for which you want to be considered under "Other" on the Application. Available AwardsAwards available through 4-H Record Books that are submitted to the Extension office by October 1, 2007: Metro: All awards available for Clackamas County 4-H youth: Grade as of October 1, 2007: 5th - 12th grades and graduating seniors ONLY (see description of awards in 2007 Brochure).
County: All awards available for Clackamas County 4-H youth: Grade as of October 1, 2007: 5th - 12th grades. All county awards are funded by your Clackamas County 4-H Leaders Association, Inc. 4-H Program Dollars (all grades): Up to three Top Record Book awards per grade are awarded. Program dollars can be used for 4-H educational activities (including regional, state and national events and contests), and 4-H sponsored summer camps, Summer Conference in Corvallis, Know Your State government, White Water Rafting, project events and other possible events. Program dollars can be accumulated from year to year. When members want to use their program dollars, they must apply with the application form they are given with their awards. If members discontinue their 4-H membership before using the program dollars they will be credited back to the 4-H program dollars award fund. If you are a currently enrolled 4-H member and graduate from the 4-H program you may apply to use your total 4-H dollars as a continuing education scholarship. College Scholarships: Twelfth grade members will be considered for a college scholarship provided by the Clackamas County 4-H Leaders Association, Inc. Several scholarships may be offered. Member must have at least a 2.0 GPA. The scholarship is based on achievement and contribution to 4-H and the community NOT financial need. Know Your State Government: This statewide 4-H program is designed for 9th - 12th graders to learn about state government operations. The young people travel to Salem and meet state government officials, learn and observe how laws are made, debate current issues facing Oregon and youth issues, and make new friends from across Oregon. Those 9th - 12th grade members submitting record books will be eligible for partial scholarships to attend the Know Youth State Government event in Salem. 4-H State Ambassador: Members in 9th, 10th & 11th grade who submit an Oregon 4-H Ambassador application are eligible to attend the State 4-H Senior Ambassador Track at the 4-H Summer Youth Conference. Only those who complete the required paper work and submit it by the deadline are eligible. Partial scholarships are available to help youth attend the conference. Upon successful completion of the conference, members will become Oregon 4-H State Ambassadors. National 4-H Congress: Members in 10th, 11th and 12th grade may submit a "Resume" to compete for a National 4-H Congress trip. Resumes will be reviewed at the county level before being nominated for state consideration. If sent on to the state and selected by the state committee for an interview, candidates will attend an overnight activity held in conjunction with the State 4-H Summer Conference on the OSU Campus. State award winners will be awarded a trip to National 4-H Congress, held each year, usually in Atlanta, Georgia. last updated 11/21/07 |
