4-H Recognition

The 4-H program recognizes our Friends, Volunteers, and Members for outstanding George & Glendel Campbell with Scott Elmshaeusercontributions and achievements. Each November we hold the Annual Awards and Recogniton Program at the Fairgrounds to honor award winners.

Businesses, organizations, and individuals that give generously of their time and resources are recognized with the Clackamas County Friends of 4-H award. Each year, we add 2-5 new awardees to the list of Friends. We invite our 4-H families to contact us with nominations by September 1 of each year.

4-H families are encouraged to nominate leaders for the Distinguished Service Awards. Nominations are due by September 1. Each year, up to five awardees are selected in the "5 Years or Less" and the "Over 5 Years" categories. Recipients are eligible to receive the award again after five years. See our list of past awardees. 4-H Leader Michele Rosier Bundy was recently awarded an OSUEA Cooperator Award. We have posted her nomination and and photo.

Youth Awards

4-H members are recognized for their participation and accomplishments. All youth who become Junior or Teen Leaders, Graduating Seniors, and those who graduate as 9 Year Members receive awards.

Youth are eligible for additional awards if they turn in 4-H Record Books by October 1. These awards include Record Keeping Seals, Top Record Program Dollars, County Achievement Medals, the I Dare You Award, the 4-H Metropolitan Citizenship Award, and Scholarships to 4-H events and college.

State and National Awards

The Oregon 4-H Hall of Fame recognizes those who significantly impact the Oregon 4-H program. Nominations are accepted each year. Hall-of-Famers with Clackamas County ties include Harold Black, Vern Palmblad, Linda Erickson, Mel Jeffrey, and George and Glendel Campbell. Linda Erickson, retired Clackamas County 4-H Extension Agent, was recently inducted into the National 4-H Hall of Fame.
