Small Animal Advisory Committee

Meetings are the third Tuesday of January, April, May, June, July, September, and November, 7:00 pm at the Extension office. All 4-H rabbit, cavy, cat, poultry, & pigeon leaders, parents, and older youth members are encouraged to attend.

Pre Fair & Social

Cat and Herpetolgy Show

July 15, 2017 

All 4-Hers in Cats, Herpetology, and Cloverbuds projects are invited to enter our annual show! We will be using the State Fair Pet class criteria for showmanship, which includes an interview. Animals will be handled only if appropriate. There are additional classes for cats, plu show-and-tell for Cloverbuds who bring cats or herlpetiles. Health checks will start at 8:00 am, with the show starting at 9:00 am.

Cats: Pre-registration by July 10 is strongly encouraged.

Herpetology: Contact Paula Means at 503-810-4215 to pre-register by July 10.

Workshop (February 6, 2016)

Annual Small Animal Workshop for youth to learn and practice showmanship and proper handling of rabbits, cavies, poultry and pigeons. Activities and information about breed identification, record keeping, educational displays and much more.  Excellent opportunity for individuals who are new to Small Animal 4-H projects!
