The Clatsop County 4-H Program welcomes you to exhibit at the Clatsop County Fair. 4-H members work hard all year to polish their skills in their project areas and are invited to present their accomplishments to the general public. There is an opportunity to enter several contests in addition to entering exhibits and displays. Friends and family are encouraged to participate at fair and support our outstanding Clatsop County young people. Fair is a great event and a traditional family affair!

Market Animal Guidelines

To be shown in market classes and sold in auction, animals must meet all requirements.

  • BEEF - (Steer Only): 900 lbs. minimum, red ribbon or better
  • LAMB - Ewe or Wether: 100 lbs minimum, red ribbon or better
  • SWINE - Barrow or Gilt: 210 - 280 lbs., red ribbon or better
    (Swine must weigh at least 40 lbs at Spring Weigh-in.)
  • GOATS - Wether or Does: 60 lbs. minimum, red ribbon or better
  • TURKEY - Hen (under 1 year): 10 lbs. minimum, blue ribbon or better
    Tom (under 1 year): 17 lbs minimum, blue ribbon or better
  • CHICKEN - Fryer Pen of 3 (under 8 weeks): 4 - 6 lbs., blue ribbon or better
    Roaster Pen of 3 (8 - 16 weeks): over 6 lbs., blue ribbon or better
  • RABBIT - Fryer Pen of 3 (56 - 70 days): 3 1/2 - 5 lbs., blue ribbon or better
  • DUCKS - Pen of 3 (less than 12 weeks old): 5 - 8 lbs., blue ribbon or better
  • GEESE - Gander or Goose (less than 20 weeks old) 8 - 15 lbs., blue ribbon or better
  • SQUAB - Market Pigeon Meat Pen - (County Only Class). Pen of 3 squab. Each bird must weigh between 12 oz - 24 oz per each bird and 25-35 days old (June 30 - July 10). Legs must be banded.
