Patrick's goal is to help coastal communities become more resilient to natural hazards. Pat engages university researchers and coastal residents in collaborative research and shared learning about the nature of coastal natural hazards; helps communities identify their vulnerability to hazards; and connects practitioners with data and decision support tools designed to help communities mitigate and adapt to coastal hazards.
Pat has three areas of focus: Coastal Storms and Shoreline Change, Tsunami Preparedness, and Beach Safety.
