Coastal Storms and Shoreline Change
In recent decades, research has shown an increase in the frequency and intensity of coastal storms in Oregon. This has increased the number of storm-related hazards including: extreme winds, major floods, landslides, etc. Hotspots of coastal erosion also now threaten homes, parks, and public infrastructure. Pat works with OSU researchers, agency staff, and others to help coastal stakeholders apply current research on shoreline change to their local communities.
