Food Preservation Class Series Offered in Scappoose

Have you thought about learning to preserve fruits, vegetables, fish or game this summer?  Are you an experienced canner who would like an update on the latest USDA recommendations? Then plan to attend one or more of the canning classes offered by the Oregon State University Extension Service this summer.

Oregon State University Extension Service is your source for research based information on safe home food preservation.  Here are the services that we offer in Columbia County:

Food Preservation Classes:

Every summer we offer hands-on food preservation classes that are open to the public.  See our announcement for the latest Food Preservation Class dates!

 

Food Preservation Publications:

All our publications and fact sheets can be viewed and printed online.

For printed copies of our materials, stop by our office in St. Helens. 

 

Dial Gauge Testing:

Pressure canner dial gauges should be tested every year before canning.  We offer this service FREE of charge in our office, Monday thru Friday.  It's a good idea to CALL FIRST to make sure we are available to test your gauge. 

 

Food Preservation Presentations:

Groups of 10 or more can request a one hour Food Preservation presentation, FREE of charge.  Call for more information.
