Who We Are
The Columbia County Extension Service is your link to Oregon State University. We provide research-based information in the areas of AGRICULTURE, FORESTRY, 4-H YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, and FAMILY & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT.
Need information? Extension agents are OSU FACULTY members who extend the University to the community by delivering objective, research-based information to help solve problems, develop leadership, and manage resources wisely. They also keep the University informed about research and informational needs of the community. In a broad sense it means agents' efforts involve: being available to all people in the county, using methods of applied research, working in programs determined by plans with local people and working with voluntary leaders and teachers (4-H, Master Gardeners, Master Watershed Stewards, etc.). As a volunteer or participant in Columbia County Extension, you can connect with your community, meet others with similar interests, and learn new skills in the process.
Extension also provides information through publications and video tapes on topics such as agriculture, 4-H youth, business management, food preservation, forestry, gardening, insect & animal pests and watershed management, just to name
a few. Many titles and topics are available. Visit the OSU EXTENSION PUBLICATIONS AND VIDEOS web page or stop
by our office to receive an Educational Materials list.
