Coos County Master Gardener's™ Program Scholarship Funds

The Coos County Master Gardener Association will honor a Coos County high school graduate to further his or her education in a plant-related field. The field of study might include agriculture, biology, botany, biochemistry, entomology, forestry, horticulture, or landscape design.

A merit scholarship of up to $2000 will be awarded for the academic year 2009-2010. The Coos County Master Gardener Scholarship Committee will determine the number and amount of awards annually. This determination will be made during the year preceding the award(s).

Requirements:

  • Coos County high school graduate.
  • Official high school transcript or copy of your high school diploma.
  • Official college transcript(s), if applicable.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better.
  • Acceptance letter to a college or university.
  • Two current, dated and signed, letters of recommendation. One of these recommendations should be from an instructor.
  • Interview with Coos County Master Gardener Scholarship Committee.

Deadlines:

Last day of April 2009 : Completed application must be postmarked no later than this date.

Friday, May 8, 2009: Scheduled interviews for finalists.

Funding:

Upon receipt of proof of acceptance at the college or university of the applicant’s choice, funds will be disbursed directly to the college or university business office and applied to the student’s tuition or books.
