Coos County Master Gardener™ Program Scholarship Funds

The Coos County Master Gardener Association will honor Coos County high school graduates and current county residents wishing to further his or her education in a plant-related field. The field of study might include agriculture, biology, botany, biochemistry, entomology, forestry, horticulture, or landscape design.

Scholarships will be awarded for the academic year 2012-2013. The Coos County Master Gardener Scholarship Committee will determine the number and amount of awards annually. This determination will be made after the interviews.

Requirements for either scholarship type:

       Completed application

       Official college transcript(s), if applicable

       Acceptance letter to a college or university

       Two current (written within the last 12 months) dated and signed, letters of recommendation

       Interview with Coos County Master Gardener Scholarship Committee

Additional requirements for the Coos County high school graduate/equivalent applicant:

       Official high school transcript or copy of your high school diploma or equivalent

       Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better

       One of the two current recommendation letters should be from an instructor

Deadlines:

April 13, 2012: Completed application must be postmarked no later than this date.

First Week of May 2012: Scheduling interviews for finalists.

Funding:

Upon receipt of proof of acceptance at the college or university of the applicant’s choice, funds will be disbursed directly to the college or university business office and applied to the student’s tuition or books.
