Nutrition Class Offerings

The SNAP-Ed program offers a variety of nutrition, physical activity and gardening classes to schools. Below is a list of our current course offerings, as well as the time commitment for each series. Please contact Allison Harris if you are interested in doing a nutrition series with your class. Due to staffing level, we may not be available to serve every class that puts in a request but will do our best to accomodate as many classes as possible.

Standalone Lessons for All Grades

Food Hero Tastings (Find recipes at: https://foodhero.org/)

These sessions can be taught with any grade level. They are focused around a specific food/recipe and offer the students a chance to taste the food. There is no series or time commitment with these tastings; we can schedule based on your availability. Food Hero tastings typically run about 20-30 minutes with a minimum duration of 15 minutes. Food Hero tastings can also be done in conjunction with other curricula.

The Balanced Energy Physical Activity (BEPA) Toolkit integrates nutrition education with physical activity. Most activities within the kit are designed for use in a gym or outdoor setting, but some can be adapted for classroom use. Similar to Food Hero, use of the BEPA Toolkit is not restricted to a series or time commitment.
