OSU Extension 4-H Technology is offering Lego Robotics summer camps for youth ages 9-14 in Central Oregon.  All proceeds will go to supporting the local 4-H technology clubs.  Please help us get the word out!!!

Lego Robotics Camps

Space Missions ~ No camps planned for 2008

Watch real video of the latest shuttle launch, discuss space travel, and space exploration. Create spacebots, and learn to program missions! This Lego robotics camp will be themed around space.  All Camps will be using the Lego RCX robots.

  • Inspires the appreciation of science and technology in youth.
  • Builds self confidence, self esteem, knowledge and life skills.
  • Encourages pursuing opportunities in science, technology, engineering and math.
  • Introduces basic Robotic concepts such as:
    • Problem Solving (or disaster management)
    • Structure (Robot) stability
    • Motor attachment
    • Motor control
    • Touch sensors, light sensors, rotation sensors
    • Basic programming using ROB0LAB
  • Provides students with the opportunity to develop work skills such as:
    • Teamwork
    • Collaboration
    • Disaster Management
    • Creative Solutions


Camp Dates & Times: No camps planned for 2008

The camps will run Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.  Youth will need to bring lunch and snacks. Cost of each camp is $150. Scholarships are available. 

Each camp is limited to 24 participants so sign up now!

Print your own Lego Robotics Space Camp application or call the Deschutes County Extension office to have an application mailed to you.
