Weed Day 2014 - Douglas County

An extraordinary educational program for controlling noxious weeds. Weed Day is held the first Wednesday of every February.  Click here for a complete program registration form and informational flyer.

LOCATION: Cascade Hall, D.C. Fairgrounds, I-5 Exit 123, Roseburg

CHECK-IN (7:30 – 8:00 am) Greeting by Farm Service Agency
Donuts and Coffee provided by Farm Credit Service


PROGRAM OUTLINE – More details will be announced as they are made available.

Pesticide Core Training* (8 am – 12 noon) Technical presentations on pesticide handling and use

Lunch Break/Demonstrations (12 – 1 pm) – Join us for our special LUNCHEON presentation by George Taylor, Applied Climate Services, LLC (please pre-register), or have lunch on your own (bring a sack lunch) and spend time in the Weed ID Poster and Specimens room.

General Education* (1:15 – 5:15 PM) Weed control on farms, ranches, homes, woodlots, right-of-ways, and non-crop areas; Noxious Weed Control Program; Cooperative Control Projects

Table Visits (all day) Consultations and information on weeds and weed control

Weedevening (6 – 8 PM)  New addition – Discussion sessions on weed control for specific sites; Short presentation followed by Q&A on specific weeds chosen by participants.
