2014 Douglas County School Forestry Tour--A 53-Year Tradition!

May 13-16, 2014
(Tuesday thru Friday),
* 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

*Please arrive by 9 a.m. If you are unable arrive by then, let us know when to expect you. We will do our best to accommodate late arrivals, but you may miss one or more of the learning stations.

Who

Schools across Douglas County who have confirmed their attendance after receiving their program introduction letter.  Each year, these letters go out to all 5th grade teachers. 

What Tour Schedule for 2014 -- what we will be doing each day. The morning includes rotations between seven learning stations and the afternoon includes rotations between four games.

If you wish to apply for reimbursement of your bus expenses then you must work directly with ORFI, Oregon Forest Resources Insitute in Portland, Oregon.  Do not contact the Douglas County OSU Extension Service office.  See information below:

Wear or Bring

  • Long pants
  • Layered clothing (it can be hot or cold)
  • Closed-toed shoes
  • Sunscreen
  • Lunch**
  • Water
  • Hat (optional)

**It works well to bring a box to hold all of your class lunches. We have a cool, shady spot where you can store the box until lunch.
