Register Now for Master Gardener Training in 2016
Friday, October 23, 2015 - 9:00am
Pre-Registrations are now being accepted through October 26, 2015. Apply early to reserve your seat. Class size is limited and only a few seats remain. You can apply now with this application.
This is a great opportunity to expand your home gardening knowledge while meeting people with the same interests. The program provides training in botany, disease identification, soil science, insect identification and control, and information on specific plants such as ornamentals, berries, lawns, vegetables, and orchard plants; everything you need to get started to answer home gardening questions. After the first part of this training program, you'll then be involved in work to expand your knowledge by working with the Master Gardener Plant Clinic for 36 hours which provides information to the public's gardening questions under the guidance of experienced veteran Master Gardeners. In addition you'll work 24 hours on other projects including plant propagation and care in the greenhouses, gardening work at the Discovery Garden, and information tables at fun events around the county. The total work commitment is 60 hours to complete the Master Gardener Training.
The application is available online or call the office at 541-672-4461 to request a copy. Then complete the application and return to the OSU Extension Service Office. Once your application is received, you'll be called to schedule an appointment in late September or October for a brief meeting with Steve Renquist. After the meeting you'll be asked to pay the class fee with either cash or check.
Along with the application is a letter that explains the details of this annual Master Gardener Training in Douglas County Oregon. Please let us know if you will not be available for the meeting with Steve or in November for the group orientation with receipt of your text book.
