Nutrition Education Program

Oregon Nutrition Education ProgramThe Nutrition Education Program of OSU Extension Services in Douglas County is called the Oregon Family Nutrition Program (OFNP). OFNP began in Oregon in 1992, so is still a relatively new program and still growing and expanding. OFNP’s goal is to provide educational programming that will increase, within a limited budget, the likelihood that all Supplemental Nutrition Assistants Program recipients and those eligible for SNAP are making healthy food choices and choosing active lifestyles consistent with the most recent Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Programming covers the lifespan. The Nutrition Education Program is offered at no cost to any participant.
