I write articles and news releases about gardening, food, small farms and 4-H to tell the stories of how Oregon State University Extension Service improves families and communities through research-based knowledge. I also manage the Extension Service’s social media outreach efforts.
Previously, I worked for almost eight years as a reporter for community newspapers in Florence and Stayton, and taught English in Japan for a year. A native Oregonian, I hold a BA in creative writing from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Fla. I found my passion for gardening after maintaining a plot in Stayton’s community garden for three years.
