• Close all running programs.
• Left Click on start, run and in the window that comes up, delete any text present in the “Open:” text field and type in \\cn-util\util and then press the enter key.
• Double Left Click on “Desktop Tools and Software” folder, then on the “Symantec” folder, and then on the “SAV 8” folder.
• Right Click on the file called “Savce8.exe” and Left Click copy, then paste the file to your hard drive. To do that, move your mouse pointer over to your desktop and Right Click anywhere on the desktop where there are no icons present and Left Click paste. It may take a while to paste the large file onto the desktop. Once it is on your desktop, Double Left Click on it to begin the installation.
• Left Click the "Next" button in the Symantec Antivirus Client window that appears.
• Left Click the radio button next to "I accept the terms…" and Left Click on the "Next" button.
• Make certain that the checkbox next to "Microsoft Exchange/Outlook" is checked and that the other checkbox next to "Lotus Notes" is not. Then Left Click on the "Next" button.
• Left Click the "Next" button again.
• Left Click on the radio button next to "Managed" and then Left Click the "Next" button.
• In the text field to the right of "Sever Name:" type "AVCENTER" and Left Click on the "Next" twice.
• Left Click on "Install" (Windows XP automatically starts the install). This will begin the file copy process. When this process is complete, Left Click on the "Next" button and then Left Click finish to complete the installation. Your system may ask you to reboot at this time. After the reboot you may get a dialogue box that is entitled "Old Virus Definition File", Left Click on the "Close" button with this dialogue box, then Double Left Click on the small yellow shield in the lower right of you screen and Left Click on the “Live Update” button to update your virus definitions.
