The amount of protein you need to eat depends on your age, sex, and level of physical activity. In general, try for about 5 ounces each day. An ounce of meat, poultry, or fish, cup cooked beans, 1 egg, 1 tablespoon of peanut butter, or ounce nuts or seeds counts as an ounce. To find out how much kids should eat, visit MyPyramid for Kids.
