Cool it Soon!

It is a good idea in hot summer weather to carry an ice chest along when shopping to keep meats, dairy, and other perishables cool until you get home. Ask the cashier to put all the cold foods in one bag.

An ice chest can be a very handy way to protect food. You can make ice blocks by rinsing out milk containers, filling them with water, and freezing. Always take picnic foods in an ice chest.

Be sure to clean and sanitize your ice chest before each use.
