American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
Contains Facts for Families publications. Available in English, Spanish and French. Over 50 fact sheets covering both normative and non-normative child events. May be duplicated and distributed as long as AACAP is credited.

American Pediatrics Association
Website contains information related to child health.

Annie E. Casey Foundation
fosters public policies, human service reforms, and community supports that more effectively meet the needs of today's vulnerable children and families. Publishes the annual Kids Count Data Book, a national and state-by-state effort to track the status of children in the U.S.

Center for Effective Parenting
strives to positively impact children through a focus on improving parenting skills. The center focuses its efforts in the areas of service, training, and research.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
l eads public health efforts to prevent and control infectious and chronic diseases, injuries, workplace hazards, disabilities, and environmental health threats.

Child Trends
is a nonprofit, nonpartisan research organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and families by providing research and data to inform decision-making that affects children. In addition to conducting its own research, Child Trends works with federal and state officials and other researchers to improve the quality, scope, and use of data on children and their families.

Child Welfare League of America
CWLA is an association of nearly 800 public and private nonprofit agencies that assist more than 3.5 million abused and neglected children and their families each year with a range of services.

Consumer Product Safety Commission
All publications are in the public domain and may be reproduced freely and in unlimited quantities. Fact sheets, brochures, and other materials describe common hazards associated with use of consumer products and give recommendations for ways to avoid these hazards. Spanish language publication topics include toy safety, a baby safety checklist, a poison lookout checklist, nursery equipment safety tips, a toy safety coloring book, ways to protect your baby, recall notices, and general safety information and advisories. Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS)
This site hosted by the Early Childhood Research Institute provides a list of over 150 titles of publications that could be useful for parents of children with a disability or for practitioners and researchers in the field of childhood disability. Included for each title is a summary of the contents, bibliographic information and availability. A few titles are available as full text and some have been reviewed. The right side of the webpage is in Spanish and Spanish materials can be accessed from there.

CYFERnet
The Children, Youth and Families Education and Research Network is practical research-based information from the Nation's leading Universities. The site includes information on Early Childhood, School Age, Teens and Parents/Family. There is information for parents on Parenting in both English and Spanish and also for professionals on Parenting Education. The site also includes a link to Just for kids interactive website.

ERIC Digests
ERIC digests are short introductions to or summaries of a topic. Many have been translated into Spanish. Some are written as literature reviews, these include such topics as: teacher-parent partnerships, violence and young children, and supporting young girls in adolescence.

eXtension
Just in Time Parenting
(JITP), is an outreach innovation that brings quality, research-based information to families at the time it can be most useful and make the biggest difference in their lives. Capitalizing on the “teachable moment,” monthly “just in time” newsletters are available-- keyed to the age of your child. A team of Extension professionals from over 30 land-grant universities have transformed these research-based age-paced newsletters into a national interactive Internet resource on parenting. The website also includes these great resources: Age-paced newsletters that can be downloaded and printed; facts sheets; Frequently Asked Questions; access to experts across the country; and links to upcoming local Extension programs.

National Parent Information Network
NPIN, part of the ERIC system, is an information service for parents and parent educators. The Spanish language documents available here are full text and reproducible. Here are a few of them:

National Association for the Education of Young Children
This organization has a number of materials, a few of which are available in Spanish. Most must be ordered.

National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information
This site has a number of resources containing parenting information, mostly emphasizing prevention and treatment of substance abuse. Resources available for Hispanic/Latino audiences.

National Center for Education in Maternal and Child Health
Content areas include breastfeeding, infant and child health, prenatal care, infant care, child safety, sexuality education, adolescent health, childhood nutrition and oral health, injury/violence prevention, chronic illnesses and childcare. Many free and low-cost booklets, posters and videotapes available from public and private resources are included. Extensive bibliographic database containing Spanish language materials.

National Family Week

National Fatherhood Initiative’s
mission is to improve the well being of children by increasing the proportion of children growing up with involved, responsible, and committed fathers. Links to a comprehensive list of fatherhood resources.

National Information Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities

NICHCY is a national information and referral center with a focus on children and youth (birth to age 22) that provides information on disabilities and disability-related issues for families, educators, and other professionals. Some publications are available in Spanish in both text and PDF versions. They include fact sheets about particular disabilities, parent guides, and news digests.
National Institute on Early Childhood Development and Education
Building Your Baby's Brain: A Parent's Guide to the First Five Years , by Diane Trister Dodge and Cate Heroman. This book explains the latest brain research in simple terms and describes what parents can do to help their child. It may be read online in either English or Spanish (PDF format). Copies may be reproduced for educational purposes under the Fair Use Provision, but may not be distributed for profit. The Early Childhood Digest is a quarterly report on ways that families, child care providers, and schools can work together to help young children learn.

National Maternal and Child Health Clearinghouse
distributes information about maternal and child health. Single copies of most items are available at no cost and most can be reproduced free-of-charge. Subjects covered include: dangers of window cords, pregnancy and HIV, a health diary for new mothers, vaccinations, baby bottle tooth decay, drinking and pregnancy, a list of federal consumer publications in Spanish, information on folic acid, the dangers of used cribs, and healthy eating activities for parents and children. "Back to Sleep" informational materials about reducing the risk of SIDS are also available. The publications may be ordered online, by phone, fax, or through the mail.

National Network for Child Care This is the Cooperative Extension System's child care information site. There are many articles and resources under various subject headings in both Spanish and English, many in the Full-Text version.

National Parent Education Network is committed to advancing the field of parenting education through networking, knowledge development, professional growth and leadership.

National PTA
A number of resources for parents are available including various articles and publications on safety and health and wellness. Many of the same resources and others are available in Spanish on the National PTA Spanish Website.

SEARCH Institute
is an independent nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide leadership, knowledge, and resources to promote healthy children, youth, and communities. To accomplish this mission, the institute generates and communicates new knowledge, and brings together community, state, and national leaders. At the heart of the institute's work is the framework of 40 Developmental Assets, which are positive experiences and personal qualities that young people need to grow up healthy, caring, and responsible.

Prevent Child Abuse America
provides leadership to promote and implement child abuse and neglect prevention efforts at both the national and local levels.

SIDS Network, Inc.
Information on SIDS is available in a number of languages. A fact sheet on how to prevent SIDS is available in Spanish.

Talaris Research Institute
works to improve the social, emotional and cognitive development of children from the prenatal period through age five by providing parents with tools to raise their children effectively.

Tufts University Child and Family Web Guide
is a directory that evaluates, describes and provides links to hundreds of sites containing child development research and practical advice. Topics are selected on the basis of parent recommendations; they cover all ages, from early child development through adolescence.

The science booklet describes learning activities and simple experiments which parents and children can do at home or in the community.
