SUMMERTIME AND THE GARDEN IS GROWING

Thin now for higher quality tree fruits
To get larger, higher quality apples and pears, remove immature fruit in late May or early June.

Don't wait too long to harvest vegetables from the garden
Regular picking encourages fruiting vegetable plants such as cucumbers, squash, bush beans, peppers, broccoli and eggplant to produce more.

Growing nut trees in your backyard or orchard
If you love the variety of nuts that grow in Oregon and would like to harvest your own every year, you can grow butternuts, chestnuts, hazelnuts and walnuts in the back yard or orchard.
