Volunteering Q&A

Why volunteer with OSU Extension?

You can gain new skills, meet new people, get involved in your community, help others develop skills and gain knowledge that will benefit them for life, and have fun!

What do OSU Extension volunteers do?

Volunteers lead activities, extend educational programs, answer questions, and organize community service events.

How much time will it take?

Volunteering can be shortterm or longterm. Master-level volunteers are trained by university experts and in turn dedicate their time to teaching and enriching their communities. There are also many opportunities to volunteer at educational events and workshops and on advisory boards in your area.

Do I need special knowledge or experience?

No. Just bring your own life experiences, and we will add to that knowledgebase. The Oregon State University Extension Service is looking for enthusiastic people who want to make a difference their communities.
