Gilliam County Fair - September 1-4, 2016 - Stirrup Some Fun!
The Gilliam County Fair was a success! All participants had a wonderful fair and did so well! We are very thankful for our members, leaders, volunteers and Fair Board Members!! We will see you in September 2017!
Cloverbud Day Camp - July 19, 2016 - Gilliam County Fairgrounds
We hosted a Cloverbud Day Camp on July 19! It was a great event with 5 Cloverbuds participating! We had a lot of fun and would love to do more of these in the future with more participants. Please let us know what you/your kids thought of this year's day camp!
OSU Summer Conference - June 22-25, 2016 - Oregon State
Several Gilliam County 4-H members attended the Oregon State University Summer Conference held in Corvallis, Oregon. Participants stayed in the dorms at OSU and attended a variety of classes! Some of the classes included fitness, community service, dancing, and leadership clases! Participants and chaperones had a wonderful time and are already looking forward to next year!!! Summer Conference is usually held the third weekend in June!
Tri-County 4-H Camp - June 16-19, 2016 - College Sports - Clash of the Clovers
This year's camp included about 50 youth from Gilliam, Wheeler, and Morrow Counties. The weather was not the greatest, but everyone still had a good time! Classes included shooting sports, Lifecycle of the Pacific Salmon, and many others! Youth enjoyed yummy meals prepared by our FANTASTIC cooks and enjoyed 4 days at the beautiful Cutsforth Park outside of Heppner, OR! 4-H Camp is usually held the third week in June. We are definitiely looking forward to hearing how much fun everyone had!!
Eastern Oregon Leadership Retreat - April 22-24, 2016 - Road Trip to Leadership
This year, about 100 4-H members from Baker, Harney, Gilliam, Grant, Union, Wheeler, and Wallowa Counties as well some participants from the Portland Metro area, stayed the first night in Arlington and then traveled to OMSI in Portland on Saturday. While traveling the Columbia Gorge, participants stopped at the Maryhill Museum's Stonehenge, Bonneville Dam, and Multnomah Falls. The participants also attended classes related to team building, leadership, and eating healthy and being active. All of the participants and volunteers had a wonderful time!
