Oregon Healthy Harvest ProjectThe Oregon's Healthy Harvest project (funded by Extension innovative grant funds) promoted consumption of locally grown nutrient-dense vegetables (i .e., broccoli, winter squash, onions and garlic, root vegetables, leafy greens, cabbage) with a 5-A-Day theme during 1999. The project was supported by an interdisciplinary team of Extension and other agency representatives. A writer/editor was hired to develop seven educational cards with information on purchasing, storage, and preparation (with food safety advice). Tips were given on how to save time and money and how to make vegetables appealing to children. Representative recipes were included. Oregon Healthy Harvest Cards
