Link to: Small Acreage
The Small Acreage program in Central Oregon provides research-based educational programming and resources to help small acreage landwoners achieve their goals. People move to the country to enjoy a rural lifestyle and are interested in learning how to be good stewards of their land. Some also pursue the idea of "niche" farming. They are exploring options of what can be produed on their land as well as learning about specialty markets, production practices and business and financial planning.
This handbook is designed to introduce current and prospective rural landowners to land stewardship resources. It contains information about agencies and organizations that can assist landowners. It also provides answers to general questions regarding land use planning, gardening, irrigation, livestock management, forest and range management, and wildlife concerns.
