About Us The expertise of Oregon State University is available to you through Extension faculty in each county. Patricia Case, Family and Community Development educator, serves Klamath County. Patricia
Case Patty is a Registered Dietitian with a Masters in Human Nutrition. She has worked in the area of nutrition for 19 years. She started her dietetics career managing the nutrition department in a small hospital in Yreka, California. In 1990, she married and moved to Klamath Falls to work at the hospital covering clinical areas and specializing in diabetes education. In 2000, she shifted career directions and became a professor for Extension Sevice. She quickly learned that being a professor for Extension Service was much more than disseminating information. She works to link resources between the University and the community to "advance knowledge, policies and practices that enhance the lives, health and environment of Oregonions." She currently teaches nonformal classes on diabetes and other chronic diseases; she administers a grant that provides nutrition education to low income families and youth; she's co-chair of Health Active Klamath Coalition that seeks to make the "healthy choice the easy choice." She considers it a privilege to serve the residents of Klamath County as champion for disease prevention and health promotion. |
