Jama Harms Scholarship
The Jama Harms Memorial Scholarship fund is presented in memory of Jama Harms. She was a dedicated Lake County 4-H member who died unexpectedly in 1995. Jama was a member of the Goose Lake Livestock 4-H Club where she raised market lambs. She also enjoyed participating in the 4-H Dog Project and had a strong interest in training guide dogs.
The memorial scholarship was established in 1996 by Jama's former 4-H leaders. Each year a lamb is donated by a 4-H club, 4-H member or individual and is auctioned off to perpetuate the fund. Over the last fifteen years, the memorial scholarship fund has assisted over fifty Lake County graduates with college related expenses.
Donations can be made at the Lake County Fair Market Sale, Saturday September 1, 2012 at 12:00 pm at the Lake County Fairgrounds or by calling the OSU Lake County Extension Office at 541-947-6054 or emailing Laurie Rice.
