These programs are typically offered to youth in the 2nd through 6th grade and range in topics from natural resources to engineering. 4-H Schools Out is a new program offered by the Lake County 4-H Youth Development Program to provide engaging activities to youth on selective weekdays throughout the school year when there is no school. This Spring we will be focusing on science programs which are geared towards youth in grades 2nd –6th in the North Lake and Lakeview area.
The 4th - 6th grade program is designed to acquaint youth with simple machines, introductory engineering skills and mechanical design. Youth will be challenged to design their very own robot out of everyday items.
2nd and 3rd graders will be engaged in a variety of projects ranging from cooking, art and natural resources. This program will encourage youth to recognize science is a part of so many things we do and how to “Think like a Scientist”!
