Senior Finance Workshop

The Don't Let Your Golden Years Be Tarnished: Financial Management for Retired Seniors is a 6-class series on Tuesdays, February 5, 12, 19, 26 and March 4, 11, 2008 with a cost of $35 per person. All classes will be held from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m., in the OSU/Lane County Extension Service Auditorium.

The challenge for seniors today is to figure out how they can maximize their investments to support themselves throughout their lifespan.
This program is geared for seniors with income from social security, pension plans and personal investments. Class topics for the 6-part series includes:

  • Facing your Financial Challenges - Examine basic money management.
  • Achieve Financial Security in Your Later Years - How much does it really take for you to cover your living expenses throughout your lifespan?
  • Making Your Money Work for You - How to maximize your dividends and reduce your tax exposure.
  • Make Sure You've Got Your Risks Covered - What are your risk management needs in retirement?
  • Maximizing the Options Available to You - Make sure you're getting the best value for the dollar spent.
  • Maximizing the Quality of Life in Your Senior Years - What are the resources for seniors, how do you get involved and how do you make a choice?
