Food Preservation/Cooking Classes
In 2012 the Oregon State University Extension Service Master Food Preserver (MFP) program launched a series of cooking classes for Lane County residents.
Most classes will be held at the Community of Christ Church located at 1485 Gilham Road, Eugene unless otherwise noted. Register by filling out the appropriate form and either mailing or dropping off to the OSU Extension Service MFP in Lane County, 783 Grant St., Eugene OR 97402. Some classes have credit card payment options, see below.

Summer 2013 Saturday Specials
Registration form is now available for two food preservation "Summer 2013 Saturday Specials." Learn to preserve from the experst and enjoy eating locally grown produce all year. All classes will be held at the Community of Christ Church, 1485 Gilham Road, Eugene. Call 541-344-4885 with questions.
June 8, 2013 - Introduction to food Preservation, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. ($20). Class Full.
July 20, 2013 - All About Preserving Fruits, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. (50). Credit card option.
August 10, 2013 - All About Preserving Vegetables, 10 a.m. -3 p.m. ($50). Credit card option.
Tuna Canning
Annual Tuna Canning with Master Food Preservers is now full. Those attending should plan for a full day (9 a.m.- about 3 p.m.) to can up to 24 half-pints of tuna. This is a hands-on opportunity to learn how to use a pressure canner. Classes will be held at FOOD for Lane County, 770 Bailey Hill Rd., Eugene. Class space is limited. Two dates to choose from:
August 24 - $40 must be paid in advance (plus cost of fish paid at class). This class is full. Please call 541-344-5859 with questions.
August 31 - $40 must be paid in advance (plus cost of fish paid at class). Class is full.
Fall 2013 Saturday Workshops

September 28, 2013 - Make Soft Cheeses at Home, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. ($50). Credit card option.
October 12, 2013 - Make Your Own Condiments, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. ($40). Credit card option.
November 2, 2013 - Gifts from the Kitchen plus Holiday Breads, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. ($40). Credit card option.
Two classes, Condiments & Gifts from the Kitchen plus Holiday Breads - Oct. 12 and Nov. 2, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. ($70). Credit card option.
