Master Food Preservers Share their Knowledge in 2016 Workshops
The Oregon State University Extension Service Master Food Preserver (MFP) program launched a series of cooking classes for Lane County residents.
Most classes will be held at the Community of Christ Church located at 1485 Gilham Road, Eugene unless otherwise noted. Register by filling out the appropriate form and either mailing or dropping off to the OSU Extension Service MFP in Lane County, 996 Jefferson St., Eugene OR 97402. Some classes have credit card payment options, see below.

2016 Summer Class Offerings
- Class: Basic Food Preservation 101, Overview of Home Food Preservation for the Beginner. Saturday, June 25, 2016, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Mail in registration form with check or pay with cash or check at the door ($25). Class to be held at the OSU Extension Service office, 996 Jefferson Street, Eugene, OR. Enter door on 10th at the top of the ramp.
- Class: What to do with all those Green Beans, Saturday, July 16, 2016, 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Mail in registration form with check or pay with a credit card ($30). Class to be held at the Community of Christ Church, 1485 Gilham Road, Eugene.
- Class: Tomatoes, Salsa and More! Saturday, August 13, 2016, 10 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Mail in registration form with a check or pay with a credit card ($30). Class to be held at the Community of Christ Church, 1485 Gilham Road, Eugene.
- Tuna Canning Workshop, Saturday, August 27, 2016, 10 a.m. until finished around 4 p.m. Please send registration form with $60 check made out to OSU Extension Service. Class size is limited, priority will be given to first time students. (Cost of tuna will be paid in class $3-4 per jar). Maximum of 24 half-pint jars per family may be canned. Class will be held at Food for Lane County, 770 Bailey Hill Road, Eugene.
