Information you can use
Family food educators in the Lane County Office of the OSU Extension Service want to share our knowledge with you. Our goal is to provide you with the most up-to-date and useful information on food preservation and food safety. We offer:
- Answers to your food safety and food preservation questions.
- Skill-building classes and workshops designed to help you learn ways to maintain a safe and adequate food supply in the home.
- Research-based information and publications on food preservation and food safety.
- Food safety, food preservation, and seasonal tips.
- Food Safety Hotline (June 16 to October 24).
- Testing pressure canner gauges.
Get involved
You can become a volunteer and help teach others by joining the Lane County Family Food Education/Master Food Preserver program. Learn more about volunteer opportunities with this program (often referred to as FFE/MFP)!
