Information you can use

Family Food Educators/Master Food Preservers in the Lane County Office of the OSU Extension Service want to share our knowledge with you. Our goal is to provide you with the most up-to-date and useful information on food preservation and food safety. We offer:

  • Answers to your food safety and food preservation questions.
  • Skill-building classes and workshops designed to help you learn ways to maintain a safe and adequate food supply in the home.
  • Research-based information and publications on food preservation and food safety.
  • Food safety, food preservation, and seasonal tips.
  • Food Safety Hotline (June 16 to October 23).
  • Testing pressure canner gauges.

Get involved
You can become a volunteer and help teach others by joining the Lane County Family Food Education/Master Food Preserver program. Learn more about volunteer opportunities with this program (often referred to as FFE/MFP)!
