Resources
The OSU Extension Forestry program in Lane County offers several publications of interest to woodland owners. Visit the Lane County Office for additional publications on forestry and natural resources management topics.
Designed for small woodland owners seeking potential buyers for their logs and/or timberland, the Log Buyers Directory is a compilation of primary log manufacturers (lumber, veneer, and fiber operations), companies, log homes, (log) buyers, and sort yards. The directory includes individuals and companies throughout Oregon, southwestern Washington, western Idaho, and northern California.
This handbook discusses the major aspects of woodland roads management as it relates to their design, inspection, maintenance, and repair. Most private and state woodland roads exist, so this publication focuses on assisting landowners in the management of these roads.
Available without charge by contacting Steve Bowers, OSU Extension forestry educator in the Lane County office of the OSU Extension Service or call 541-682-4243.
