In 2012 the Oregon State University Extension Service Master Food Preserver (MFP) program launched a series of cooking classes for Lane County residents.
Most classes will be held at the Community of Christ Church located at 1485 Gilham Road, Eugene unless otherwise noted. Register by filling out the appropriate form and either mailing or dropping off to the OSU Extension Service MFP in Lane County, 783 Grant St., Eugene OR 97402. Some classes have credit card payment options, see below.

June 8, 2013 - Intro to Canning: Learn about equipment, tips for success, and what is safe to do at home and what is not. Credit card payment $20.
Registration form is now available for three food preservation "Summer 2013 Saturday Specials." Learn to preserve from the experst and enjoy eating locally grown produce all year. June 8, 2013 - Introduction to food Preservation, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. ($20). Credit card option.
July 20, 2013 - All About Preserving Fruits, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. (50). Credit card option.
August 10, 2013 - All About Preserving Vegetables, 10 a.m. -3 p.m. ($50). Credit card option.
Take all three classes - Intro, Fruits, Vegetables - $100. Credit card option.
Annual Tuna Canning with Master Food Preservers now open for registration. Plan for a full day (9 a.m.- about 3 p.m.) to can up to 24 half-pints of tuna. This is a hands-on opportunity to learn how to use a pressure canner. Classes will be held at FOOD for Lane County, 770 Bailey Hill Rd., Eugene. Class space is limited. Two dates to choose from:
