International Work

Since 2005, Ross Penhallegon, tri-county horticulture faculty (Lane/Linn/Benton counties), has visited Kyrgyzstan three times to teach Central Asian growers the basics of tree fruit production. During the trips, Ross made 72 presentations to teach tree fruit grafting and pruning skills. In the past 3 years, he also distributed saws, grafting knives, scion wood, and 44 pruners to Kyrgyzstan growers, and has collected more than $7,000 in donations for the project.
