Food Pantry Project

Are you looking for a new way to connect with your community? Join an amazing group of volunteers and become a Food Pantry Food Educator for the Nutrition Education Program at OSU Extension Service in Lane County!

The Food Pantry Project at OSU Extension Service in Lane County aims to empower those receiving emergency food to improve the nutritional quality of their diets. We do this by offering healthy and inexpensive Food Hero recipes, budget stretching tips, and nutrition education. The goals of the Food Pantry Project are to:

  • Help those receiving emergency food improve the nutritional quality of their diets
  • Increase the consumption of vegetables, fruits, lean meats, whole grains, and low-fat dairy
  • Inspire people to try new foods!
  • Encourage volunteers to share their expertise with the community
