21st Century Community Learning Centers / After School Programs 2003-08
Cindy George and Josh Jesinghaus run our four programs that center around
science investigation and out of door nature focused exploration.

In Class Programming
- 1. Toledo Middle & High Schools: Olalla Creek Restoration / Education Program, fall/winter/spring creek investigation for 7th and 8th graders
- 2. Taft Elementary : Mrs. Miller and Baker's 5th Grade Classrooms spring and fall stream / riparian investigation field trips
- 3. Grande Rhonde and Willamina Middle Schools: in partnership with Oregon Trout we have begun to take middle schoolers to the Salmon River for riparian/creek studies.
- 4. Corvallis Middle Schools: Again in partnership with Oregon Trout we are beginning to take middle schoolers to their local watersheds for riparian /creek studies.
- 5. Eddyville Charter School: in partnership with Oregon Trout we are beginning to take middle schoolers to their local watersheds for riparian /creek studies. Also we are beginning a native nursery program and riparian maintenance study.
- 6. Waldport Zoology Class: Aquatic invertebrate studies on Canal Creek
- 7. Riverdale High School: (Portland) one time aquatic surveys of Olalla Creek
Community Events / Service
- 1. Atonement Lutheran Church: lead a discussion of environmentalism and Christianity.
- 2. Olalla Reservoir Environmental Education Day with Georgia Pacific
- 3. Ollala Creek Celebration: Two week day camp open to middle school aged children of Lincoln County. This was a collaborative effort between our 21st Century CLC's and our Olalla Creek Restoration education fund
Other
Entrepreneurship: We have created two test batches of exotic invasive weed paper and are making headway. GP is interested in the project and may help us with further processing refinement. Idea: students harvest, design, make and sell exotic weed paper products...goes back to afterschool program.
Alternative Energies: We are in beginning talks with the chemist at Rogue Brewery to work with brewing waste as a possible biofuel source.
