Local Self Reliance Seminars

Local Self Reliance Seminars are a series of workshops that deal with local issues and how local people can learn and adopt present technologies to become locally self reliant.  The workshops are sponsored by Oregon State University Extension, Oregon Coast Community College Small Business Development Center, and Lincoln County Technology Solutions Alliance. Topics covered in these workshops are grouped into three categories: Energy, Economy & Community.

Local Self Reliance-Part III [SEE OUR FLYER & AGENDA]

Community, Energy, and the Economy

This workshop will discuss using energy efficiently, growing local vegetables, comparing different heating fuels, being locally sustainable, selling and buy local products throughout the county, high efficiency electric bulbs, and making and using bio-diesel. This workshop will be held in Newport at the Newport Recreation Center building and the address is 225 SE Avery Street, Newport, OR 97365 on Friday April 23rd, 2010, starting at 9:00 a.m. Your registration includes lunch.

Based on our first two Local Self Reliance seminars, there is a big interest in these workshops.  Registration cutoff is Thursday April 22nd, 2010.
