Welcome to Malheur County! We are a large county, land-wise, with over 6.3 million acres. This makes us the second largest county in Oregon (after Harney) and we rank 19th overall in the nation in terms of land size. Of that 9,926 square mile, 94% is deemed rangeland. 78% of our rangelands are federally owned and managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). With so much rangeland, it's no wonder that Malheur County is not only a great place to live but to also raise cattle!
