Derek Godwin is the lead administrator responsible for the overall leadership, direction, supervision and budget management for Extension in Marion County. He also provides water and watershed education and specializes in hydrology, urbanizing watersheds, stream processes, and water quality monitoring. Projects and areas of interest include low impact development, the Master Watershed Steward program, stream erosion and floodplain management, and stream temperature monitoring. | |||||

Neil Bell oversees the Master Gardener programs in Marion and Polk Counties, as well as providing assistance to homeowners, retail nurseries and landscapers in these counties. He also researches drought-tolerant plants for western Oregon, and has done, or is doing, evaluations of Ceanothus, Cistus, Halimium, Arctostphylos and Grevillea. |

Holly Berry has been a member of the Marion County Extension staff since 1988. Her primary responsibilities are for programs for families related to foods, nutrition, and food safety and preservation. She manages the food stamp nutrition education program in Marion, Polk and Yamhill counties. She also facilitates the Oregon Poverty Simulation and the Hunger Simulation. |

Dan Hoynacki joined OSUES in 1998 following rural community tourism development for Marion and Polk counties. Dan brings marketing, public relations and community outreach experience to his Extension work. Dan is currently Chair of Cascade Scenic Railway, Inc.; Director for Development for Caretakers of the Environment, International, Inc.; and Director of Networking for Caretakers of the Environment, USA Branch. He was named Sublimity First Citizen in 2000. | |||||

Donita Roseboro is responsible for the establishment, recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating of various classified positions and support staff; coordinates workloads; provides assistance to all staff in personnel, payroll, human resource issues; provides leadership to support staff; and handles financial matters dealing with paying invoices, travel and personal reimbursement, bank deposits, reconciliation of county budget and preparation of financial summaries for budgeting purposes in Marion, Washington and Yamhill County Extension Offices. |

Tom Silberstein Field Crops Agent (503) 373-3756 |
Tom Silberstein joined Extension in 2005 and is responsible for providing educational and cooperative research programs relating to management of non-irrigated field crops. These crops include grains, grass and legume seed, oilseed, hops, and mint field crops. Current projects consist of on-farm research trials dealing with crop fertility, harvest timings, testing new wheat varieties, and herbicide effectiveness. He also provides educational programs dealing with pesticide training, use, and license recertification. Tom oversees the Seed Certification program in Marion and Clackamas Counties. | |||||

Lisa Wallig is a Registered Dietitian and Gerontologist specializing in nutrition and aging, and food insecurity across the life span. She teaches garden-enhanced nutrition and healthy food preparation in 4th and 5th grade classrooms. Lisa also manages the Community Nutrition Program in OSU Extension's partnership with Marion-Polk Food Share (MPFS), overseeing a successful Train the Trainer volunteer program, promoting self-sufficiency and self-reliance. Lisa coordinates the Food Pantry Project including nutritition education and teaching food preparation in emergency food pantries and with older adults; the Community Garden Garden-to-Kitchen program; and Share Our Strength's Operation Frontline nutrition education classes at MPFS.

Elvira Bedolla is the administrative office assistant at OSU Marion County Extension. She is the lead for Customer Service, public relations via phone, mail, email and in person. Elvira provides program support to Extension Faculty and in programs such as Community Horticulture, Family and Community Development, Sea Grant and Seed Certification. Her responsibilities also include paying invoices, travel reimbursements and bank deposits. Elvira is also the assistant to the office manager. | |||||

Maria Isabel Falcon works in both Yamhill and Marion Counties, teaching youth and adult nutrition classes. In Yamhill County, Maria works with the Housing Authority with adults and kids in McMinnville, Dayton, Layfayette and Newberg. She also teaches summer school in Newberg. Maria's classes focus on the importance of healthy eating, physical exercise, and disease prevention. | |||||

Pam Gibson teaches fine art and arts and crafts to approximately 200 students in the area. "Santiam Canyon Outreach Program" has been in service for many years with both in-school and after school programs and ceramics classes being taught during the summer break. Gates, Mill City and Lyons schools are all active participants of this ongoing Program.
