With a $6,200 grant from the city of Salem, the Pringle Creek Watershed Council will deliver brief presentations to Salem groups upon request. The presentation covers weed identification, control methods and resources for help with weed problems. The targeted weeds include English ivy, Himalayan blackberry, Japanese knotweed, purple loosestrife and others. If you are interested in hosting a presentation or viewing the brochures, call Robin Straughan, (503) 399-5741, Ext. 130. The publications and presentation are available online at www.open.org/~mariswcd/ urbanweeds.html -- Beth Casper
