Friday in the Apiary: September 15

Bee Lawns!

Lawns are great for soccer and golfing, but they don't do much for bees. What if we incorporated flowering plants in our lawns to provide a little extra forage for our bees? The OSU Honey Bee Lab has planted a few plots of lawn with varying amounts and species of flowering plants. Join us and bee expert Dr. Andony Melathopoulos in a special day among the bees and lawns. If you're interested, help us count bees and determine which plots support bees yet still have the aesthetics of a lawn.
