Master Gardener Volunteer Practicum Description
The MG Volunteer Practicum is an essential continuation of the initial training that participants receive through the 66-hour MG training. In this program, MG trainees work in various capacities to extend the educational mission of OSU Extension and the Master Gardener Program. Participants are taught to engage with diverse audiences about the art and science of sustainable gardening. MG volunteers are trained and supervised educators that interact with the general public in the Portland metro area about all aspects of growing and caring for plants.
MG volunteers participate in the following educational activities in and about the Portland metro area:
- Home horticulture hot-lines to answer the public's plant questions.
